Girder Delivery – St. Louis
Receive & Organize Structural Steel for Erection
The structural steel for a new bridge over the South Saskatchewan River was being shipped to the construction site a few months in advance of when the girder erection work was scheduled to take place. As a result Johnston Construction was brought out to receive and organize the structural steel girders for the General Contractor who was not yet onsite. Johnston Construction mobilized a crew and equipment to the site on short notice, prepared the critical lift plans and provided engineering support for the temporary shoring. By putting in some long hours and maintaining crew availability the erratic shipping schedule was accommodated and the 12’ tall girders were received quickly and efficiently. The project was completed without incident for a very pleased client.
