Construction of a new single lane, clear span 25 metre bridge over the Salmo river.  900 mm deep concrete box girders with cast in place concrete abutments and parapets, rip rap installation in the channel and asphalt paving to edge of bridge. Installation was taking place during the fall of 2016 and we experienced rain event after rain event, one nite saw the river raise over a metre in height.  It was a good test of our rip rap installation and nothing moved on the job site.  Even though there was absolutely no food on site, we were visited regularly by this bear, until it got too wet even for him.
