The project involved upgrades to 2 existing bailey bridges on the Toby Creek Road near Invermere BC.  The log sills which supported the bridges had deteriorated allowing the bridges to sink, the decks were worn and there was some other damage caused by vehicles strikes that required attention. The road was to be closed during certain phases of the construction so that the foundations could be replaced.  Due to the time sensitive nature of the road closures Johnston Construction mobilized a larger crew to the site and worked long days.  This enabled us to complete the work well ahead of schedule reducing the impacts to the traveling public.  The work was also completed under budget which saved the owner money as the work was undertaken on a cost plus basis.
